God has already won.
There is an alignment we must make to be in the correct posture to hear from God. Hearing directly from the source allows us to stand firm on His Word. Do you have to physically fight or do you just have to show up?
There are several examples in the Bible of physical fights. Here are some:

Saul vs the Amalekites [1 Samuel 15]
David vs Philistines [1 Samuel 23:1-5]

Judah vs Assyria [2 Kings 19:32-35]
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace [Daniel 3]
Daniel in the Lion's Den [Daniel 6]
To know whether you have to fight or just show up, you must be connected to the source. How do you connect to the source? Here are some things to do daily:

Put on the full armor of God [Ephesians 6:11-18]
Pray [1 Thessalonians 5:17]
Study [1 Timothy 2:15]
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world [1 John 4:4]
